Background Information
Founded in 2016, TransSwati was officially registered as a non-profit organization in May 2018. Lack of trans* community representation in programmatic activities of the development sector in Eswatini led to the formation of this young feminist group. TransSwati is working towards fighting social stigma much of which is perpetuated by gays, lesbians, and cisgender people in the community.
Vision
To create a future where all transgender and gender non-conforming individuals have equitable access to public services, are free from stigmatization and feel safe and secure in a Swazi society.
